Description

This Angel Beef Casserole is the ultimate comfort food, featuring creamy layers of sour cream and cream cheese, savory tomato beef sauce, tender pasta, and gooey mozzarella cheese. It’s an easy, family-friendly dinner that’s ready in just 40 minutes! Perfect for weeknight meals or potlucks, it’s a recipe you’ll make on repeat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz angel hair pasta
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  • Boil the angel hair pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  • In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and onion until browned and fully cooked. Drain any excess fat. Stir in garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, pepper, and tomato sauce. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  • In a bowl, mix the sour cream and softened cream cheese until smooth.
  • Spread half of the cooked pasta in the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Top with the creamy mixture, followed by the remaining pasta. Pour the beef mixture evenly over the top.
  • Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the entire casserole.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Remove from the oven, garnish with fresh parsley if desired, and serve warm.

Notes

  • To make ahead, assemble the casserole (without baking) and store it in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. Bake as directed when ready to serve.
  • For a vegetarian version, substitute the ground beef with plant-based crumbles or sautéed mushrooms.
  • Feel free to add veggies like spinach or bell peppers for extra nutrition.
  • Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 2 months.
