Description

Baked Brie with Puff Pastry, Cranberry-Pepper Jelly, and Pecans is the perfect holiday appetizer! This easy recipe combines the creamy goodness of brie with the sweet-tart flavor of cranberry-pepper jelly, crunchy pecans, and a golden puff pastry crust. Perfect for gatherings, this warm, gooey dish is guaranteed to impress. Serve with crackers or baguette slices for the ultimate crowd-pleaser!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed)
  • 1 wheel of brie (about 8 oz)
  • ¼ cup cranberry-pepper jelly (or regular cranberry jelly with red pepper flakes)
  • ¼ cup pecans, chopped
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Fresh thyme (for garnish, optional)
  • Crackers or baguette slices (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface, slightly larger than the brie.
  3. Place the brie in the center of the puff pastry. Spread the cranberry-pepper jelly on top of the brie.
  4. Sprinkle with pecans, then fold the puff pastry over the brie, sealing the edges tightly.
  5. Brush with egg wash to create a golden finish when baked.
  6. Place the wrapped brie on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the puff pastry is golden brown and crispy.
  8. Let it cool for 5-10 minutes, then garnish with fresh thyme (optional).
  9. Serve warm with crackers or baguette slices for dipping.

Notes

  • If you don’t have cranberry-pepper jelly, mix regular cranberry jelly with a pinch of red pepper flakes for a similar effect.
  • To make ahead, wrap the brie in puff pastry and store in the fridge for up to a day before baking.
  • Experiment with different jellies (fig, raspberry) or nuts (almonds, walnuts) to customize the flavor.
  • Make sure to seal the puff pastry well to prevent any filling from leaking out while baking.
