Description

These Banana and Honey Biscuits for dogs are an easy homemade treat that’s healthy and delicious! Made with simple ingredients like bananas, honey, and whole wheat flour, these biscuits provide a sweet yet nutritious snack that your furry friend will love. Perfect for rewarding good behavior or just showing your pup some extra love!

Ingredients

Scale

  • 2 ripe bananas
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 egg
  • 2 ½ cups whole wheat flour
  • ½ cup rolled oats
  • ¼ cup water (add more if needed for dough consistency)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mash the bananas in a large bowl using a fork or potato masher until smooth.
  3. Add the honey and egg to the mashed bananas, mixing well until fully combined.
  4. Gradually stir in the whole wheat flour and rolled oats. Mix until a dough begins to form.
  5. Add water as needed to help bring the dough together, but be careful not to make it too sticky.
  6. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to about ¼ inch thickness.
  7. Cut out shapes using cookie cutters, or simply cut into squares with a knife.
  8. Place the biscuits on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and firm to the touch.
  9. Allow the biscuits to cool completely on a wire rack before serving them to your dog.

Notes

  • Storage: Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week. For longer storage, refrigerate for up to two weeks or freeze for up to three months.
  • Add-Ins: Feel free to add a spoonful of unsalted peanut butter or replace bananas with pumpkin puree for a different flavor. You can also add a dash of cinnamon or use oat flour for a gluten-free option.
