Description
This light, fluffy, and subtly sweet Italian sponge cake (Bizcotte) is perfect for tea time, desserts, or as a base for layered cakes. Simple ingredients, easy preparation, and a delicate vanilla flavor make it a timeless favorite.
Ingredients
4 eggs 250g of sugar 130g butter (melted) 180g of milk Vanilla extract 350g flour 16g baking powder Granulated sugar
Instructions
1. In a bowl, add the eggs, sugar and mix with the mixer until the sugar dissolves. Add butter, milk and mix again. 2. Add the vanilla essence, baking powder and flour gradually and mix everything well until there are no more lumps. 3. Pour the mixture into the baking mold (26 cm – size of the mold) oiled with flour and bake in the oven at 180°C / 360°F for 40 minutes. 4. Remove the cake from the oven, let it cool completely and decorate with powdered sugar.
