Decadent and festive, Boozy Peppermint Dark Chocolate Truffles combine the richness of dark chocolate with a peppermint schnapps kick. These no-bake, bite-sized treats are perfect for holiday gatherings or gifting, customizable with a variety of coatings like cocoa powder, crushed candy canes, or sprinkles.


Ingredients

  • ⅓ cup heavy cream
  • 6 ounces good-quality dark chocolate, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon peppermint schnapps
  • Optional coatings: cocoa powder, chocolate almond bark, crushed peppermint candies, or sprinkles


Instructions

  • Place the chopped chocolate and butter in a heat-safe bowl and set aside.
  • Heat the heavy cream in a small saucepan until it just begins to steam.
  • Pour the hot cream over the chocolate and butter. Let it sit for 2 minutes, then whisk until smooth.
  • Stir in the peppermint schnapps. Cover and chill the ganache for 2 hours or until firm enough to scoop.
  • Scoop out 1 tablespoon-sized portions and roll into balls.
  • Roll in desired coatings, such as cocoa powder, sprinkles, or crushed candy canes, or dip in melted chocolate.
  • Store in the refrigerator until ready to serve.

Notes

  • For less sticky hands, wear rubber gloves or coat your palms with cocoa powder while rolling.
  • If coating in melted chocolate, chill truffles for 30 minutes before dipping.
  • Store in the fridge for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 1 month.
