Description

Caramel Apple Slices are a delicious twist on the classic fall treat! Perfect for parties, these slices are easy to eat, fun to decorate with toppings, and customizable with your favorite ingredients. With just a few simple steps, you can make these bite-sized caramel apple slices for a sweet, crunchy treat that everyone will love.

Ingredients

  • 34 medium apples (Granny Smith recommended)
  • White or wooden lollipop sticks
  • 1 cup melting chocolate (milk, dark, or white)
  • 1 cup caramel sauce
  • Optional toppings: crushed nuts, sprinkles, mini chocolate chips, sea salt

Instructions

  • Wash and dry the apples. Slice them into ½ to ¾ inch wedges, removing the core and seeds.
  • Insert a lollipop stick into the bottom of each apple slice, ensuring it’s secure.
  • Melt the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring every 30 seconds until smooth.
  • Pat the apple slices dry to remove excess juice, then dip each slice into the melted chocolate, allowing any excess to drip off.
  • Place the chocolate-covered slices on a wax paper-lined tray to harden.
  • Warm the caramel slightly and drizzle over the chocolate-covered slices.
  • Immediately sprinkle with toppings if desired.
  • Let the caramel and chocolate harden before serving.

Notes

  • To avoid a “weeping” apple slice, make sure the apples are completely dry before dipping in chocolate.
  • Slightly cooled caramel is best for drizzling so it doesn’t melt the chocolate off.
  • These treats are best enjoyed the same day for optimal texture.
  • If making the day before, store them in the fridge on wax paper to keep the chocolate and caramel intact.
