Description

Christmas Cookie Bars are soft, chewy blondies filled with festive M&Ms and sprinkles, perfect for the holiday season. Easy to make, freezer-friendly, and ideal for gifting, these bars are a crowd-pleasing treat that will add sweetness to your celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale
  • ½ cup (113g) unsalted butter
  • 2 cups (400g) packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 cups (248g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Christmas M&Ms or your favorite colors
  • ½ cup Christmas sprinkles (jimmies recommended)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a 9×13-inch metal pan with foil and spray with non-stick cooking spray.
  • Mix butter and brown sugar together until crumbly using a hand or stand mixer.
  • Add eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
  • Stir in salt, baking powder, and flour until just combined.
  • Fold in M&Ms and sprinkles, reserving a small portion for topping.
  • Spread the dough evenly into the prepared pan using greased hands to smooth it out. Top with reserved M&Ms and sprinkles.
  • Bake for 22–25 minutes or until edges are golden and the center looks slightly underdone.
  • Cool completely before slicing into bars.

Notes

  • Use a metal pan for even heat distribution. Glass pans may result in uneven baking.
  • Err on the side of underbaking for soft, chewy bars.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days or freeze for up to a month.
  • Substitute M&Ms and sprinkles with different colors to match other holidays or occasions.
