Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare the Pan
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a 10×15 inch jelly roll pan and line it with parchment paper.
- Make the Cake Batter
- In a bowl, sift the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- In another large bowl, whisk the eggs and sugar until fluffy (about 3 minutes).
- Stir in the vanilla extract and milk.
- Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until combined.
- Bake the Cake
- Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- While warm, carefully roll the cake in a clean towel with parchment still inside. Allow it to cool.
- Prepare the Whipped Cream Filling
- Beat the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla until soft peaks form.
- Fill the Cake
- Unroll the cooled cake, spread the whipped cream evenly over the surface, and roll it back up.
- Make the Ganache
- Heat the heavy cream until it simmers (don’t boil).
- Pour it over the chocolate chips and let it sit for 2-3 minutes.
- Stir until smooth.
- Decorate the Cake
- Spread the ganache over the roll cake.
- Let it set for 15-20 minutes before serving.
