Description

These Easy Peach Dumplings are a delightful and simple dessert that combines juicy peaches with a buttery, cinnamon-sugar crust. Perfect for any occasion, this recipe is sure to become a family favorite!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large fresh peaches (or 1 can of peach halves, drained)
  • 1 can of crescent roll dough
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup lemon-lime soda (like Sprite or 7-Up)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with a bit of butter or non-stick spray.
  2. Prepare the Peaches: If you’re using fresh peaches, peel and halve them, removing the pits. If you’re using canned peaches, ensure they are well-drained.
  3. Wrap the Peaches: Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles. Place a peach half at the wide end of each triangle and roll it up, enclosing the peach completely.
  4. Arrange in the Dish: Place the wrapped peaches in the prepared baking dish, leaving a little space between each dumpling.
  5. Make the Sauce: In a medium bowl, mix together the melted butter, sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon. Pour this mixture evenly over the peach dumplings.
  6. Add the Soda: Pour the lemon-lime soda around (not over) the dumplings, ensuring it spreads evenly in the dish.
  7. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the dumplings are golden brown and the sauce is bubbly. The smell when this is in the oven is incredible!!
  8. Serve: Let the dumplings cool for a few minutes before serving. They’re fantastic on their own, but even better with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Notes

  • Peach Choice: Fresh peaches provide a more vibrant flavor, but canned peaches work perfectly when you’re short on time.
  • Rolling Technique: Ensure the dough fully encloses the peach to keep all the juicy goodness inside.
  • Sauce: Don’t pour the soda directly over the dumplings, as it can make the tops soggy.
