Description

These Easy Ritz Cracker Spiders are the perfect Halloween snack! They’re quick to make, super cute, and a hit with both kids and adults. With just a few simple ingredients, you can whip up these creepy-crawly treats in minutes. Perfect for lunchboxes, parties, or a spooky snack at home!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 16 Ritz crackers (or any round crackers)
  • 4 tablespoons peanut butter (or cream cheese, soy butter, apple butter, etc.)
  • 8 pretzel sticks (cut in half for shorter legs, or use whole for longer legs)
  • 16 mini chocolate chips (or candy eyes, raisins)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Legs: Start by cutting the pretzel sticks in half to create shorter legs. If you prefer longer legs, use the pretzel sticks as they are.
  • Assemble the Body: Spread a generous amount of peanut butter on one side of a Ritz cracker.
  • Add the Legs: Arrange four pretzel stick halves on each side of the cracker, pressing them into the peanut butter.
  • Top It Off: Spread more peanut butter on another Ritz cracker and place it on top of the pretzels, sandwiching them in between.
  • Create the Eyes: Use a dab of peanut butter to stick two mini chocolate chips on top of the cracker, flat side out, to form the spider’s eyes. Get creative with different options like candy eyes or icing!

Notes

  • Substitutions: Feel free to substitute the peanut butter with cream cheese, soy butter, or apple butter. You can also use different fillings to suit your taste.
  • Make Ahead: These can be made a day in advance. Store in an airtight container at room temperature to keep the pretzels crunchy.
  • Kid-Friendly Tip: Let your kids decorate the spiders themselves! They’ll love getting creative with the eyes and legs.
