Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ¼ cup melted butter
- ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- ½ cup unsweetened chocolate chips (sugar-free optional)
- ⅛ teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons chocolate syrup
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
- In a medium mixing bowl, combine granulated sugar, melted butter, cocoa powder, chocolate chips, salt, and chocolate syrup. Mix thoroughly until a thick dough forms.
- Scoop out portions of dough with a spoon and roll into balls. Place on a greased baking sheet.
- Chill the shaped cookies in the freezer for 5-10 minutes.
- Bake for 10 minutes. The cookies will appear soft and slightly underbaked.
- Let the cookies cool completely on the baking sheet for at least 20 minutes before removing them with an offset spatula.
Notes
- Chilling the dough helps prevent the cookies from spreading too much while baking.
- Allow the cookies to cool fully to ensure they set properly and maintain their chewy texture.
- For a dairy-free version, substitute the butter with coconut oil or vegan butter.
