Ingredients
Scale
- 4 baby bok choy, halved lengthwise
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 tbsp soy sauce (low sodium recommended)
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 tsp rice vinegar
- ½ tsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
- 1 green onion, chopped (for garnish)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Sear the Bok Choy – Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Place bok choy halves cut side down and cook for 2-3 minutes until lightly browned and tender.
- Add Garlic – Flip the bok choy, add minced garlic, and stir occasionally for 2 minutes to prevent burning.
- Make the Glaze – In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, and sesame oil.
- Glaze the Bok Choy – Pour the sauce into the skillet and let it simmer for 1-2 minutes, allowing the glaze to coat evenly.
- Garnish & Serve – Sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions, then serve warm.
Notes
- For extra heat, add ½ tsp red pepper flakes or a drizzle of sriracha.
- For a vegan version, swap honey for maple syrup or brown sugar.
- For a heartier meal, toss in tofu, shrimp, or grilled chicken.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
