Description
A festive and elegant salmon dish featuring a tangy-sweet cranberry glaze. Perfect for holiday gatherings, this recipe is quick to make, bursting with flavor, and a vibrant addition to your table.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 salmon fillets (6 oz each)
- 1 cup fresh cranberries (or frozen)
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp ground ginger
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Lemon wedges (for serving)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a small saucepan, combine cranberries, honey, balsamic vinegar, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, and ground ginger. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Cook for 10-12 minutes until cranberries burst and sauce thickens. Remove from heat.
- Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Season salmon fillets with salt and pepper. Sear salmon for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Transfer skillet to the oven and bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork.
- During the last 2-3 minutes of baking, spoon cranberry glaze over the salmon, allowing it to caramelize slightly.
- Remove from the oven, drizzle with remaining cranberry glaze, and garnish with fresh parsley. Serve with lemon wedges for extra brightness.
Notes
- Frozen cranberries can be used if fresh ones aren’t available.
- The cranberry glaze can be made up to 3 days in advance and reheated before serving.
- For a smokier flavor, grill the salmon instead of baking it.
