Ingredients
- 6 pounds apples (peeled, cored, and chopped)
- 2 cups sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Place apples in a slow cooker or large pot. Cook on low heat for 4-6 hours, stirring occasionally, until apples are soft.
- Puree the cooked apples using an immersion blender or food processor until smooth.
- Stir in sugar, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, and salt. Continue cooking on low heat for 8-10 hours, stirring occasionally, until thickened and darkened.
