- 1 pound ground turkey
- 1 cup chopped apple (peeled and cored)
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1 tablespoon parsley (optional)
Instructions
- In a large skillet, cook the ground turkey over medium heat until fully browned, breaking it into small crumbles as it cooks.
- Add the chopped apples and cook for 3-4 minutes until they begin to soften.
- Stir in the rolled oats and parsley (if using) and cook for another 2 minutes.
- Allow the mixture to cool slightly, then transfer it to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Preheat oven to 250°F (120°C). Spread the mixture evenly on the baking sheet and bake for 1-1.5 hours, or until dried and crisp.
- Let it cool completely before serving or storing.
Notes
- Store the kibble in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days or freeze in portioned containers for up to 3 months.
- Make sure to avoid apple seeds and core, as they can be harmful to dogs.
- You can substitute the turkey with lean ground chicken if preferred.
