Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-size pieces
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon chili paste (optional)
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish
  • Sliced green onions, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine chicken pieces with cornstarch, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
  2. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Arrange the chicken in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook for 10 minutes, flip, and cook for another 10 minutes until golden and crispy.
  3. Meanwhile, prepare the sauce by mixing soy sauce, honey, ketchup, sesame oil, minced garlic, rice vinegar, and chili paste in a saucepan over medium heat. Simmer until the sauce thickens.
  4. Toss the cooked chicken in the sauce until well-coated. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.
  5. Serve immediately and enjoy the burst of flavors!

Notes

  • Ensure the chicken is cooked in batches if the air fryer basket is small to maintain the crispiness.
  • For a gluten-free version, use tamari instead of regular soy sauce.
