Description

These Maple Cinnamon Cookies are soft, chewy, and filled with the warm, cozy flavors of maple and cinnamon. With a buttery dough and sweet maple vanilla glaze, these cookies are perfect for fall gatherings, holiday baking, or whenever you crave a comforting treat!

Ingredients

Scale

Cookie Dough:

  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1½ cups brown sugar, packed
  • ⅓ cup maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg

Maple Vanilla Glaze:

  • 2 cups powdered sugar, sifted
  • 2 teaspoons maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla bean paste (or vanilla extract)
  • 3 tablespoons milk (whole milk recommended)

Instructions

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. Set aside.
  • In a large heatproof bowl, melt the butter. Stir in brown sugar, maple syrup, and vanilla extract until combined, then add the egg.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Cover and chill for 30 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment or silicone mats.
  • Scoop dough into balls and place on baking sheets, spaced 2 inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are lightly browned. Cool on the sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
  • For the glaze, whisk together powdered sugar, maple syrup, vanilla bean paste, and milk until smooth. Drizzle over cooled cookies. Let glaze set before serving.

Notes

  • Vanilla Bean Paste: Adds rich vanilla flavor with beautiful flecks. Vanilla extract works as a substitute.
  • Silicone Mats: These reduce browning and help with even baking.
  • Cookie Scoop: A 3-tablespoon scoop keeps cookies uniform in size.
  • Portioning Dough: For easier handling, portion the dough into balls right after chilling.
