Ingredients
Scale
- 8 hot dogs
- 1 package crescent dough
- 8 slices cheddar cheese
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- Ketchup, for serving
- Mustard, for serving
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F. If using an air fryer, wait until the mummies are wrapped before preheating.
- Roll out each piece of crescent dough on a baking sheet. Use a pizza cutter or knife to slice thin strips on one side of the dough.
- Place a slice of cheese on the short uncut side of the dough.
- Put a hot dog on top of the cheese and wrap the uncut dough strips around the hot dog in a zig-zag pattern, leaving a space for the “face.”
- Brush the wrapped mummies with melted butter.
- Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown. If using an air fryer, bake for 5-8 minutes.
- Serve with ketchup and mustard for dipping, and enjoy!
Notes
- Substitutions: Crescent dough can be replaced with pizza dough or puff pastry for a twist. Experiment with different cheeses like American, Swiss, or your favorite deli cheese.
- Storage: Store any leftovers in the fridge. Mummy Hot Dogs can be enjoyed at room temperature, so they’re perfect for parties!
- Make Ahead: You can prepare the mummies ahead of time and refrigerate them until you’re ready to bake.
