Description

Mummy Hot Dogs are a fun, spooky treat perfect for Halloween parties or festive family dinners! Wrapped in buttery crescent dough and filled with melted cheddar cheese, these cheesy, savory mummies are sure to be a hit with kids and adults alike. Serve them with ketchup and mustard for dipping and watch them disappear!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 hot dogs
  • 1 package crescent dough
  • 8 slices cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • Ketchup, for serving
  • Mustard, for serving

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F. If using an air fryer, wait until the mummies are wrapped before preheating.
  • Roll out each piece of crescent dough on a baking sheet. Use a pizza cutter or knife to slice thin strips on one side of the dough.
  • Place a slice of cheese on the short uncut side of the dough.
  • Put a hot dog on top of the cheese and wrap the uncut dough strips around the hot dog in a zig-zag pattern, leaving a space for the “face.”
  • Brush the wrapped mummies with melted butter.
  • Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown. If using an air fryer, bake for 5-8 minutes.
  • Serve with ketchup and mustard for dipping, and enjoy!

Notes

  • Substitutions: Crescent dough can be replaced with pizza dough or puff pastry for a twist. Experiment with different cheeses like American, Swiss, or your favorite deli cheese.
  • Storage: Store any leftovers in the fridge. Mummy Hot Dogs can be enjoyed at room temperature, so they’re perfect for parties!
  • Make Ahead: You can prepare the mummies ahead of time and refrigerate them until you’re ready to bake.
