Ingredients
Scale
- 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour (spooned & leveled)
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ cup salted butter (softened)
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- ¾ cup brown sugar (packed)
- 1 large egg
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup Ghoul’s Mix M&M’s
- 20 Oreos (10 finely ground for dough and 10 crushed for topping)
- Candy eyeballs for decoration
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line two cookie sheets with parchment paper.
- In a food processor, finely grind 10 Oreos and set aside the remaining 10 Oreos to crush for topping.
- In a large bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy. Add the granulated sugar and brown sugar, beating until fully combined, about 3–4 minutes.
- Beat in the egg, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips, M&M’s, and ground Oreos.
- Use a cookie scoop (about 1.5 tablespoons) to portion dough onto cookie sheets, spacing them about two inches apart.
- Top each cookie with crushed Oreo pieces and additional M&M’s, pressing gently into the dough.
- Bake each sheet separately for 10–11 minutes, until edges are golden.
- Remove from the oven and press candy eyeballs onto the warm cookies. Allow cookies to cool for 5 minutes on the sheet, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- Storage: Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for 3–5 days for best freshness.
- Make it extra festive: Add more M&M’s or Oreo pieces after baking for a decorative, colorful finish.
- Butter tip: If using unsalted butter, add an extra pinch of salt to the dough for flavor balance.
