Description

Festive and spooky, these Oreo Halloween Cookies are made with ground Oreos in the dough, colorful Halloween M&M’s, and candy eyeballs for a ghoulishly fun treat! Perfect for Halloween parties, school treats, or a baking session with kids, they’re easy, delicious, and packed with rich chocolatey flavor. Ready in under 30 minutes!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour (spooned & leveled)
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup salted butter (softened)
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup Ghoul’s Mix M&M’s
  • 20 Oreos (10 finely ground for dough and 10 crushed for topping)
  • Candy eyeballs for decoration

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line two cookie sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a food processor, finely grind 10 Oreos and set aside the remaining 10 Oreos to crush for topping.
  • In a large bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy. Add the granulated sugar and brown sugar, beating until fully combined, about 3–4 minutes.
  • Beat in the egg, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips, M&M’s, and ground Oreos.
  • Use a cookie scoop (about 1.5 tablespoons) to portion dough onto cookie sheets, spacing them about two inches apart.
  • Top each cookie with crushed Oreo pieces and additional M&M’s, pressing gently into the dough.
  • Bake each sheet separately for 10–11 minutes, until edges are golden.
  • Remove from the oven and press candy eyeballs onto the warm cookies. Allow cookies to cool for 5 minutes on the sheet, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • Storage: Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for 3–5 days for best freshness.
  • Make it extra festive: Add more M&M’s or Oreo pieces after baking for a decorative, colorful finish.
  • Butter tip: If using unsalted butter, add an extra pinch of salt to the dough for flavor balance.
