Description

These Pecan Pie Brownies are the ultimate dessert mash-up, combining the rich, fudgy texture of brownies with the sweet, nutty crunch of pecan pie. Perfect for holidays or any special occasion, these indulgent treats are a crowd-pleaser and surprisingly easy to make!

Ingredients

Scale

For the Brownie Layer:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder

For the Pecan Pie Layer:

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup corn syrup
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped pecans

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth. Add the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder, and mix until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  • Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly. Bake for about 15 minutes.
  • While the brownie layer bakes, prepare the pecan pie topping. In a medium bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, corn syrup, eggs, vanilla extract, and melted butter. Stir in the chopped pecans.
  • Carefully pour the pecan mixture over the partially baked brownie layer, spreading it out evenly.
  • Return the pan to the oven and bake for an additional 25-30 minutes, or until the pecan pie layer is set and golden.
  • Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan before cutting them into squares.

Notes

  • For an extra indulgent treat, serve these brownies warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
  • These brownies can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerated for up to a week.
  • Feel free to substitute walnuts for pecans if you prefer, or add whole pecans on top for a decorative finish.
