Description

These Puff Pastry Brie Bites are an easy, elegant appetizer that’s perfect for any gathering. A buttery puff pastry wraps around creamy brie, sweet cranberry sauce, and crunchy walnuts. They’re golden, crispy, and simply irresistible! Ready in just 35 minutes, they’re a perfect choice for holiday parties or cozy nights in.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 wheel of brie cheese
  • 1/4 cup cranberry sauce (or fig jam)
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts (or pecans)
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Fresh thyme leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and cut it into 2-inch squares.
  • Place a small piece of brie in the center of each pastry square. Top with a teaspoon of cranberry sauce and a sprinkle of chopped walnuts.
  • Fold the corners of the puff pastry squares over the filling to create a small bundle, pinching the edges to seal securely.
  • Brush the tops of the pastry bites with the beaten egg for a beautiful golden color when baked.
  • Arrange the bites on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed up.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Garnish with fresh thyme leaves if desired before serving.

Notes

  • Cheese Substitutions: Camembert or cream cheese can be used in place of brie for a different flavor.
  • Sweet Topping Variations: Substitute cranberry sauce with fig jam, apricot preserves, or honey to switch up the flavors.
  • Make-Ahead Option: Assemble the bites a few hours in advance and refrigerate. Brush with egg wash right before baking.
