Ingredients

- Whisk together flour, sugar, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder.
- In a separate bowl, mix oil, eggs, buttermilk, red food coloring, vanilla, and vinegar.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients; mix until smooth.
- Divide batter among pans; bake 25–30 minutes. Cool cakes completely.

Make the Cream Cheese Frosting:
- Beat butter and cream cheese until fluffy.
- Add powdered sugar gradually, mixing until smooth. Stir in vanilla extract.

Assemble the Tree:
- Trim cake layers for a flat surface; stack with frosting between each layer. Taper edges for a tree shape.

- Frost the tree with a base layer. Pipe green frosting with a star tip for tree-like texture.
- Add fondant ornaments, edible beads, glitter, and a gold star on top.
