Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb spicy ground sausage
- 1 can (10 oz) Rotel diced tomatoes and green chilies, drained well
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 2 cans (8 oz each) crescent roll dough
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a nonstick skillet over medium heat, cook sausage until browned and fully cooked. Drain excess grease.
- In a mixing bowl, combine cooked sausage, softened cream cheese, and drained Rotel tomatoes. Stir until well mixed.
- Unroll the crescent dough and separate into triangles.
- Place a spoonful of the sausage mixture at the wider end of each triangle. Roll up from the wide end, encasing the filling.
- Place the crescents seam-side down on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, until crescents are golden brown. Serve warm.
Notes
- Be sure to drain the Rotel tomatoes well to prevent the filling from being too runny.
- You can add shredded cheese or diced jalapeños to the filling for extra flavor.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 1 month.
