Description
Recreate the magic of Starbucks cake pops right at home with this delightful copycat recipe! Perfect for parties or a sweet little treat after dinner, these cake pops are fun to make and even more fun to eat. With a moist vanilla cake center and a luscious chocolate coating, they’re every bit as tempting as the store-bought version.
Ingredients
- 1 box vanilla cake mix (plus ingredients called for on the box: water, oil, and eggs)
- 1 cup vanilla frosting
- 2 cups white chocolate chips or candy melts
- Sprinkles for decoration
- Lollipop sticks
Instructions
- Bake the Cake: Prepare and bake the vanilla cake as directed on the box using a 9×13 inch pan. Allow to cool completely.
- Crumble and Mix: Crumble the cooled cake into a large bowl until no large pieces remain. Mix in 1 cup of vanilla frosting until well combined.
- Form the Balls: Roll the cake mixture into 1-inch balls and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Chill: Insert lollipop sticks into each ball and freeze for about an hour until firm.
- Dip and Decorate: Melt the white chocolate or candy melts and dip each cake ball fully. Decorate with sprinkles before the chocolate sets.
- Set: Allow the cake pops to set by standing them upright in a styrofoam block or cake pop stand until the chocolate hardens.
Notes
- Chill Thoroughly: Ensure cake balls are very firm before dipping to prevent them from falling off the sticks.
- Coating Consistency: If the chocolate or melts are too thick, add a teaspoon of coconut oil to achieve a smoother finish.
