Description

Sweet Potato & Peanut Butter Chews for Dogs are healthy, easy-to-make treats made with simple ingredients like sweet potatoes and peanut butter. Packed with fiber, vitamins, and healthy fats, these chewy snacks are perfect for rewarding your pup!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 large sweet potato
  • 1/2 cup unsalted, natural peanut butter (no xylitol)
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  • 1/4 cup rolled oats (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 250°F (120°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Wash, peel, and slice the sweet potato into thin rounds (about 1/4 inch thick).
  3. Place sweet potato slices on the baking sheet and bake for 2 hours, flipping halfway.
  4. In a bowl, mix peanut butter and coconut oil. Add rolled oats if using.
  5. Remove sweet potatoes from the oven, let cool, then coat with the peanut butter mixture.
  6. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes to set the peanut butter.
  7. Cool completely before serving to your dog.

Notes

  • Store chews in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week, or freeze for longer storage (up to 3 months).
  • Always use xylitol-free peanut butter, as xylitol is toxic to dogs.
  • Adjust chewiness by altering the thickness of sweet potato slices—thinner slices for crispier chews, thicker for softer.
