Ingredients

1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened

1 cup (200g) granulated sugar

1 cup (220g) packed light brown sugar

2 large eggs
-
2 tsp pure vanilla extract

3 cups (360g) all-purpose flour (spooned & leveled)

1 tsp baking soda
-
½ tsp baking powder
-
1 tsp salt
-
2 cups (340g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
1. Prep & Preheat

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
2. Cream Butter & Sugars

In a large bowl, beat butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (2-3 mins).
3. Add Wet Ingredients

Beat in eggs one at a time, then vanilla.
4. Mix Dry Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.

Gradually add to wet ingredients, mixing just until combined (don’t overmix!).
5. Fold in Chocolate Chips

Stir in chocolate chips (and nuts, if using).
6. Scoop & Bake

Drop 2-tbsp balls onto baking sheets, spacing 2 inches apart.

Bake 8-10 minutes until edges are golden but centers look slightly underdone.
7. Cool & Enjoy

Let cool 5 minutes on sheets, then transfer to a rack.
