Ingredients
Scale
- 1 tube crescent rolls
- 4 oz chive and onion cream cheese, softened
- 1 ½ tbsp Dijon mustard
- 3 tsp fresh rosemary or thyme, finely chopped (divided)
- 2 cups shredded Gruyere cheese (divided)
- 1 lb thinly sliced turkey (leftover or deli)
- 1 (14 oz) can whole berry cranberry sauce
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- ½ tsp poppy seeds
- ½ tsp granulated garlic
- ¼ tsp salt (or to taste)
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare the Baking Sheet: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
- Arrange the Crescent Dough: Unroll the crescent dough and separate into triangles. Lay the triangles on the baking sheet, forming a circle with the wide ends overlapping and the points facing outward.
- Mix the Cream Cheese Filling: In a small bowl, stir together softened cream cheese, Dijon mustard, and 1 tsp of rosemary or thyme. Spread this mixture over the wide ends of the crescent dough.
- Add Cheese and Turkey: Sprinkle 1 cup of shredded Gruyere cheese over the cream cheese layer. Lay the sliced turkey on top, slightly overlapping each piece. Spread half of the cranberry sauce over the turkey, then sprinkle with the remaining 1 cup of Gruyere.
- Form the Crescent Ring: Fold the pointed ends of the crescent dough over the filling, tucking them under the wide ends to form a ring. Gently press to secure.
- Brush and Bake: In a small bowl, combine melted butter, poppy seeds, granulated garlic, and salt. Brush this mixture over the crescent dough. Bake for 22-24 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
- Finish and Serve: Let the crescent ring rest for 5 minutes. Sprinkle with remaining rosemary or thyme. Slice and serve with extra cranberry sauce on the side.
Notes
- Cheese Options: Substitute Gruyere with Swiss or Havarti for a different flavor.
- Cranberry Sauce Variations: Use homemade cranberry-orange sauce for a twist, or add a hint of cinnamon for warmth.
- Make Ahead: Assemble up to a day in advance, then bake fresh when ready to serve.
- Leftovers: Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days and reheat in the oven for 10 minutes at 350°F.
