Description
Turkey and Pumpkin Balls for Dogs are a delicious, healthy homemade treat that’s grain-free and perfect for pups with sensitive stomachs. Made with lean turkey, fiber-rich pumpkin, and natural peanut butter, these treats are easy to prepare and will have your dog begging for more!
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 1 cup canned pumpkin (pure pumpkin, not pumpkin pie filling)
- 1/2 cup natural peanut butter (make sure it does not contain xylitol)
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup rolled oats (optional, for added texture)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, canned pumpkin, natural peanut butter, egg, and rolled oats (if using). Mix well until all ingredients are fully combined.
- Use a spoon or cookie scoop to form the mixture into small balls, about the size of a walnut. Place them evenly spaced on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the balls are firm and cooked through.
- Allow the treats to cool completely on the baking sheet before serving them to your dog.
Notes
- Make sure to use peanut butter that does not contain xylitol, which is toxic to dogs.
- You can substitute ground chicken or beef for turkey if preferred.
- Store treats in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week or freeze for up to three months.
