If using dried chickpeas, boil on the stovetop with water until soft (about an hour). If using canned chickpeas, rinse the chickpeas in water and drain.
Cut some pita bread into chip size pieces. Fry in oil until golden brown. Set aside.
Mix the tahini and yogurt in a bowl with mashed garlic, lemon juice, ground cumin, and salt.
Layer the fried pita bread on the bottom of a dish.
Add the drained chickpeas on top of the fried pita bread.
Add the garlicky tahini yogurt on top of the chickpeas.
Sprinkle some pomegranate arils and chopped parsley on top.
Fry pine nuts in ghee until golden brown. Pour onto the fattet hummus.
