Make your breadcrumb mixture with stale cornbread and other breadcrumbs. Find the cornbread recipe here.Step 1
Saute the celery and onion until the vegetables are tender and turning translucent. Add to the breadcrumb mixture in a large bowl.Step 2
To the large bowl of bread and vegetables, mix in chicken broth, sage, pepper and eggs. Allow to rest overnight in the fridge.Step 3
When you are ready to bake, transfer the mixture to one 9×13 and one 8×8 casserole dish and bake at 375F degrees for about 2 hours.Step 4
The dressing is done when it no longer jiggles in the center and the top is golden brown! Give yourself (and the dressing) plenty of time to bake properly.Step 5
