    • 1 cup unsalted butter (softened to room temperature)
    • 4 cups powdered sugar
    • 1/4 cup Baileys Irish Cream
    • 2 tsp vanilla extract
    • 23 tbsp heavy cream (optional, for consistency)

Instructions

  • Preheat and Prepare: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  • Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Combine Wet Ingredients: Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla to the dry ingredients. Beat on medium speed until smooth.
  • Add Baileys and Water: Stir in boiling water and Baileys Irish Cream. The batter will be thin.
  • Bake: Divide batter between the prepared pans and bake for 30-35 minutes. Cool completely.
  • Make Frosting: Beat softened butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar, then Baileys and vanilla. Add heavy cream if needed.
  • Assemble: Frost the cooled cakes with the Baileys buttercream frosting.
