Description

Celebrate any patriotic holiday with this delightful Brownie Flag recipe. This rich, fudgy brownie topped with fresh blueberries and strawberries, and creamy white frosting, is as beautiful as it is delicious. Perfect for gatherings and sure to impress your guests!

Ingredients

Scale

12 tablespoons butter

1 1/2 cups sugar

2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

3 eggs

1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract

3/4 cup flour

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon baking powder

1 cup mini chocolate chips

1 cup fresh blueberries

2 cups sliced strawberries

2 (16-ounce) containers white frosting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Remove from heat and stir in the sugar and cocoa powder until well combined.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add the vanilla extract. Mix in the flour, salt, and baking powder until the batter is smooth. Finally, fold in the mini chocolate chips.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Let the brownies cool completely in the pan.
  5. Once the brownies are cool, spread an even layer of white frosting over the top. To create the flag design, place the blueberries in the upper left corner to represent the stars. Arrange the sliced strawberries in rows to mimic the stripes.

Notes

For clean slices, chill the brownies in the refrigerator for about an hour before cutting.

Use a piping bag or a zip-top bag with a corner snipped off to pipe the frosting for a more precise flag design.

Make sure your berries are fresh and dry to prevent them from making the frosting runny.

Store any leftover brownies in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
