Ingredients
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ½ cup chicken broth (or seafood broth for added flavor)
- 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
- ½ tsp smoked paprika
- ¼ tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for extra heat)
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
Instructions
1. Sauté the Garlic
Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds to 1 minute until fragrant.
2. Add the Liquids & Seasoning
Pour in the heavy cream and chicken (or seafood) broth. Stir in the Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper (if using). Bring to a gentle simmer, stirring occasionally.
3. Stir in the Parmesan
Reduce the heat to low and slowly whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and fully incorporated.
4. Finish with Lemon Juice
Stir in the lemon juice and let the sauce cook for another 1-2 minutes until slightly thickened. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
5. Serve & Enjoy!
Remove from heat and serve immediately over your favorite dish!
Notes
- Adjust the spice level by adding or omitting the cayenne pepper.
- For a thicker sauce, let it simmer longer or whisk in a small cornstarch slurry.
- Best served fresh, but leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
