Ingredients

Scale

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and ground cinnamon.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Mix in the mashed bananas and sour cream until well combined.
  6. In a separate bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth and creamy.
  7. Pour half of the banana batter into the prepared loaf pan. Spread the cream cheese over the batter, then top with the remaining banana batter.
  8. Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Use ripe bananas: Overripe bananas add more sweetness and flavor.
  • Room temperature ingredients: This helps create a smoother batter.
  • Don’t overmix: Overmixing can result in a denser bread.
