  • 2 large onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or Gruyère)
  • 4 cups cooked pasta (egg noodles or penne)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  • In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onions and caramelize for 15-20 minutes.
  • In a separate skillet, cook ground beef until browned, then drain excess fat.
  • Combine the cooked beef, caramelized onions, beef broth, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, thyme, and pasta in a large bowl.
  • Transfer mixture to baking dish and top with shredded cheese.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbly.

Notes
