Description

Delightfully spooky and delicious, these Spooky Chocolate Chip Cookies are perfect for Halloween! With candy eyes and festive sprinkles, they’ll be a hit at any gathering, making baking a fun activity for the whole family.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • Candy eyes or Halloween sprinkles for decoration

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this to the wet ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each.
  • Press candy eyes into the dough and sprinkle with Halloween sprinkles.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
  • Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • For softer cookies, remove them from the oven while the centers still look slightly undercooked.
  • You can freeze the dough for later baking—just scoop into balls and freeze!
